Zespół powstał w 1983 roku w Tampie (Floryda, USA) z inicjatywy Trey'a Azagtotha, Dallasa Warda i Mike'a Browninga.

W jego skład wchodzą:
- Trey Azagthoth (od 1983 r.; wokal, gitara, instrumenty klawiszowe, syntezator gitarowy);
- Steve Tucker (1997 - 2001, 2003 - 2004, od 2015 r. ; wokal, gitara basowa); 
- Dan Vadim Von (od 2017 r.; gitara).
